Yah?! So what if it’s my birthday . . .

Soft Shelled Turtle; pig nose and leather shell

Can’t help it, every time I look at this turtle I CRACK UP! Ironically the day I started working on this blog realized it was my dad’s birthday. Gosh I miss him, yet honestly towards the end of his days he was miserable. Sure he was sick, anyone suffering is miserable in one aspect or another, nevertheless some people just age happier. Don’t really think it has anything to do with your bank account either, know some pretty miserable wealthy individuals. Think happy to be alive has to do with living authentically, HONEST LIVING with a thankful heart.

Honest with yourself,  not blaming others for the irregularities, wrinkles or crooked teeth, ears that stick out, freckles…nope, its CELEBRATING your weakness and staying kind despite the inherited gene.  Yes, even if it’s a pig nose, after all not everyone can blow bubbles with their nose!

blowing bubblesAs I walk through the wetlands today see a Gator chomping down on another turtle feast. Poor little guys, they are like potato chips to these prehistoric spiny skinned creatures. It’s a good thing they can move fast.

Honestly, the Soft Skinned Turtle has to be one of the most amazing creatures. Before moving to Florida never even knew these reptiles existed, so much to be discovered. Like the snake bird below; Anhinga. They swim so fast and actually thought it was a snake when I first saw them.

Nature is always present to educate, fascinate and replicate! Came across an Anhinga nest and once again fascinated by this amazing animal family who grow into their feet 🙂

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

About Brenda

"Brenda adores the birds. She is enchanted with their grace, their beauty. It was the birds and being out among them that gave her the peace she so needed and forged a new passion She uses a camera to capture those incredible moments, to savor them and share them with others. For her the camera was freedom. Brenda spent her life healing others, and dealing with incredible pain and despair. The world of birds and nature and photography was what she turned to in order to see the beautiful side of the world" -Eric Curtis Cummings
