Orange Eye of Approval

oh yah_fhdr_fhdr

Ever have a pet you just adored?? Our baby (7 yrs old now) POOKIE is an Indian Ring neck parakeet. I’ve always respected the beak of a bird haven’t you? Well, got over my fear and guess what…HE LIKES IT!

Pookie likes to be pet and even more amazing …. TALKS when BEING PET! He sounds almost human!

Made the above video for my family in Ontario to see and guess what’s even more amazing… crowds of people visit I don’t even know! Get messages about other nature loving souls and bird lovers alike. It appears we are all astounded about these feathered friends of ours.

As Faith

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

About Brenda

"Brenda adores the birds. She is enchanted with their grace, their beauty. It was the birds and being out among them that gave her the peace she so needed and forged a new passion She uses a camera to capture those incredible moments, to savor them and share them with others. For her the camera was freedom. Brenda spent her life healing others, and dealing with incredible pain and despair. The world of birds and nature and photography was what she turned to in order to see the beautiful side of the world" -Eric Curtis Cummings

      he is the most loving parrot we ever owned. He reminds me of my childhood bird; LOVE BIRD NIBS!! My mom recently told me of a story; how i wrapped him in a hankerchief and put him in my plastic purse; i brought him to the grocery store to go “food shopping with us” achem. I was in 4th grade, i guess i didn’t have much fear as a child..and mom had the wisdom to be sure he got his breath back!!

  2. He is sooo beautiful! I enjoyed the video and i like the art very much.I like how you zoomed in on a small section of the head – great composition! Gorgeous colour! Thank you for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday:)

      He calls out “Freckles” and we find he panics and calls out to them if they are not in his sight. Never knew birds were THIS adore them all

  3. Janet – 2004-03-02I have a GCC named Oz that I have had for six months now. He is about 10 months old. I have tried to teach him to talk but with no luck, but he does mimic sounds. He often lays down flat or on his side to be petted, and can do somersaults and head stands up against a pillow! He enjoys spending time with me the most, but also likes his little playmates, my pet parakeets, Yawn and Stretch. They play together, eat together, and bathe together. Occasionally, Oz is a bit nippy-when it comes to having to go back in his cage, at bed time, or when I head out to work. I have found Oz to be a great companion and a very loving pet.
