Patriotic Nature

Reflecting on patriotism in nature and came across this quote by Clarence Darrow “True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else  and it got me thinking

Nature forages with innate promptings. Did you know Birds have a substance called magnetite, which is located just above their beaks? This is a mineral that the birds use to help them determine Earth’s magnetic field, so they can navigate using true north.

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26

And yet, if this is the truth, the fact of the matter is maybe we don’t recognize our value. Sometimes people you respect, love or devoted to, can hack you up into a pile of rubble, usually the day they see you as replaceable. It’s important to discern truth and dispel refuse all while staying kind and knowing “Vengeance is Mine saith God”

Yes, reflection of Patriotism led me this song written by Degarmo And Key

Only the Meek Survive

With all your pomp and all your glory
Still there’s really no surprise
When it comes down to the end
Only the meek survive

You say that God is a God of goodness
He only helps those who help themselves
You see I found God, he helps the helpless
And leave all the rest to help themselves

You say you grit your teeth
And you ground out goodness ton by ton
But you find your gold in the fire
The meek and the poor will find the Son

You told me God is patriotic
You said he’s best friend with uncle Sam
But I know that road it leads to heartache
Sam’s lost the faith that cause him to stand
Ah, you say, you’ll pull yourself
By your bootstraps, that’s just fine

But, when it comes right down to the end
Only the meek survive
When it comes right down to the end
Only the meek survive

About Brenda

"Brenda adores the birds. She is enchanted with their grace, their beauty. It was the birds and being out among them that gave her the peace she so needed and forged a new passion She uses a camera to capture those incredible moments, to savor them and share them with others. For her the camera was freedom. Brenda spent her life healing others, and dealing with incredible pain and despair. The world of birds and nature and photography was what she turned to in order to see the beautiful side of the world" -Eric Curtis Cummings

I never knew that about birds, but it makes sense. They head south for the winter and north when the weather warms up. Something must help them to fly in the right direction.

I love that even patriotism takes you to the birds! Lovely.

Don’t you love shooting in Butterfly World? One of my all-time favorite places, what great birds, flowers, and, oh yes, butterflies. Thanks for sharing.
